Financial Aid:

These children have been struggling from severe economic inequality. They suffer from abysmal living conditions. The entire economy was agricultural, meaning most source of income was heavily dependent on weather. Unfortunately, luck was not on their side. Devastating flood would often brutally cut off supply lines. Furthermore, during monsoon season, it was simply impossible to reach the village. Anyone who tried would usually meet a fatal fate. The number of accidents was simply alarming. Government programs had completely ignored them. The official in charge just left. Complaints were raised, but no actions were taken.

Due to these unfortunate set of circumstances, the children did not have access to basic necessities. Many of them were seen wearing the same set of clothes for up to one month. Most of them didn’t even have food. Very often, they were walking on spiky rocks. The cuts on their feet were clearly visible. The need for change was simply so obvious. To counteract these conditions, we first began by distributing clothes. We had tons of extra clothes from when we were younger that could fit every single child in the area. On top of this, we purchased slippers for each one of them. The biggest surprise was that the price wasn’t exorbitant. It didn’t take much to provide a meaningful, transformative experience in someone’s life. It really showed us how, no matter how our lives are, there’s always some way that we can help one another.

We wanted to continue this pattern of growth, so we set up a continuous donation process. We also began to approach investors for more financial support. In order to create a sustainable environment for the children, it is necessary that even the adults must be in order. Many of them were unemployed. Those who were usually lived far away or earned minimal income. Alcohol and drug conditions were common. It wasn’t like these adults were lazy, they simply lacked opportunity. They couldn’t find something where their skills could be used. To combat this, we took their details and set about finding jobs for them.

While it hasn’t been an immediate, overnight success, progress was being made. The change could be sensed. Recognizing the potential a proper job could give, many more were eager to sign up. Because more adults had a stable income, they could care and focus on the condition of the children, leading to growth for them. There is still a long way to go, but the first step has been taken. You can also provide for these kids, by clicking on the donate button. It doesn’t take too much to completely alter one’s life. It’s the small things that really make the impact. Like Anne Frank said, “No one has ever become poor from giving.”

Medical  and Nutritional Support:

Currently, we’re providing these children with calcium-supplemented milk and various types of vegetables every day of the week to ensure their well-being. The calcium milk promotes bone growth to aid them as they develop / grow and also ensures that they’re receiving all of the nutrients that they need to be getting on a daily basis. In addition, we provide vegetables to keep their blood pressure levels and weights stable, reduce their risk of heart disease and stroke, different types of cancer, and various eye and digestive problems. Both of these types of food that we’re providing are very nutritious and possess many health benefits to those who consume them.

Furthermore, our organization always makes sure that these children know why we’re having them consume various types of vegetables and drink a certain type of calcium-supplemented milk every day of the week. We always tell them that they will grow stronger and will live healthier lives if they do so. This motivates them to drink their milk and eat their vegetables every single day. So far, we’ve seen immense progress in the health of these children. Their weights have increased immensely and they seem to be more lively and active. This is probably since the food we’ve been supplying them with has given them enough nutritional content and energy to carry out bodily functions and live more active lives. We can notice the difference in their health every consecutive time we visit this village as we see these children playing and running around more and more in the little park that they have in their village. However, this wasn’t the case on our first visit. These children seemed fatigued and were just shying away from us as they thought that we were complete strangers. Even though this was the case on the first day we visited this village in Adilabad, we’ve now made these children realize that we were trying to help them the entire time. As a result, every time we head down to the village nowadays, they’re more interactive and are always ready to play games and have fun with us. However, we always make sure that we’re collecting data about their health and ensuring that they have all of the necessities that they need before we have fun together.

Besides all of the work that we do, it’s very exciting to see how much more lively these children have become and how they realize that the food and milk they’re being provided with is actually helping them. We’ve made them and their families realize that it’s very important to receive sufficient nutrients to live healthy, active, and better lives.

Moreover, our organization also funds/finances the medical tests of these children to ensure their well-being. We conduct regular blood tests and weight check-ups around once or twice a month on these children depending on their health condition as well as our and their availability to make sure that they’re healthy. The blood tests that we conduct give us data on each of the children’s nutrient levels and let us identify deficiencies in their nutrition. These tests tell us where a particular child is lacking in certain nutrients that may prevent them from living a healthy life. We work to guarantee that all of the children in Kolumguda receive sufficient nutrients by supplying them as needed through extra types of food or through supplements. Adding on, the weight check-ups that we conduct give us data on if a certain child is underweight and if he/she needs to eat more. That’s why weight check-ups are so vital to maintaining the health of these children. After receiving weight and blood data from these children, we progress into setting goals for them. These goals include consuming more of a specific type of food or taking nutritional supplements.

In addition, just as we do with the vegetables and milk we provide these underprivileged children, we also tell them why we conduct regular blood tests and weight check-ups on them so that they realize we’re just trying to help them. As these children have now understood why we do everything we do for them, they’ve become more comfortable with undergoing these processes as they realize the health benefits that they’re receiving from them. Also, our organization conducts such testing to ensure that these children are eating everything we’ve been giving them and to see if they still have any nutritional deficiencies which could be reversed by providing them with extra food. If we notice any problems with this, we contact a local villager who can tell us about the health condition of the child as well as what they’re eating and drinking. Based on this information, we provide extra food or different types of food to a certain child depending on their nutritional needs. For example, if we notice that a child in the village has a Vitamin B12 deficiency, we provide them with more milk or give them more fruits including oranges and apples. All of these types of food are known to have Vitamin B12. Therefore, if any of these children have nutrient deficiencies, are severely underweight, or are not consuming enough food, our organization does everything it can to provide them with support to live a healthier lifestyle.

Our Future Plans:

We're going  to expand to more than 10 villages in the city of Adilabad in the upcoming year and provide as many underprivileged children in this area as we can with nutritional, medical, and financial support as well as humanitarian-aid. We hope to satisfy all of the needs of these children, who face a lack of resources and need our support to live better lives.
